2 things: This is a great lineup, and the show takes place in a great
city. Americans note that sometimes you can get cheaper tickets to
Dublin than London. If you've never been to Dublin, I rate it (as a
bloody American tourist) with Paris, London and Berlin, with the added
bonus that the locals mostly understand you when you speak.

2nd: RyanAir can be a false economy. If you're in London, it takes
about 15 pounds or more to get out to the airport, and it's another 10
Euro into town in Dublin. Once you take all the incidental transport
costs into account, it's cheaper to take the Bus/Ferry, plus you get
that chance you've been missing to get violently seasick crossing the
water.

Last summer I took my kids to London, Paris, Amsterdam and Dublin,
going the 'discount air' route. Next time I'm sticking to trains -- at
least you go city center to city center. Getting up at 4 AM to catch
a bus from Amsterdam to the Rotterdam airport to fly back to London
was a low point of the trip.
