I am using gmail for 313 and it seems to be just fine. I set up the account with no problem, but could not initially send to the list. Another 313 subscriber pointed out the HTML vs. Text Email issue and that fixed the problem (which was just a fault of my own).
I guess that doesn't really help you all that much, but thought I would share my scenario. It is possible to use gmail though! Good luck! ps - one weird thing is that the account I previously used for 313 still receives the odd piece of email from the list, just 1 email every once in a while...strange.
