Wow - can't believe I found a picture of Let it Be records
this is the shop that recently got shut down to make way for a 50 story
condo
it was the last of the great vinyl record shops in the downtown area
(there's still a few in the surrounding city)
this was my favorite shop in Minneapolis - what you see is just the very
front of the store
the shop went back about another 30-40 feet, had a basement area with dance
records and continued into an employees and lucky few storage area that was
like a massive catacombs. Loads of artists had in store appearances,
shopped there, and knew Ryan (the owner) personally.
It was great finding rare imports there, bizarre stuff you wouldn't find
anywhere else in town, great music related promotional items, etc.
Fitting that the last record bought there was The Beatles "Let it Be"
