I've been listening to BVL's "6 Strings For A Winter's Day" nearly all
day, and it's some of the most beautiful music I've heard in the past
few years. This is a collection of Bill's improvisation on guitar
with effects, delays, and laptop, and it's shimmering, vague,
luminous, quiet and challenging all at once.

In the interest of full disclosure, Bill is a friend of mine who gave
me a place to stay for the festival in 2002, and came to play in Iowa
City for a show I promoted. But believe the hype -- if you have any
love for ambient music, you'll want to have this. If I had to
compare, I'd say it was like Fennesz, but not as hashed up, or Robert
Rich, but not new-agey or slack.

Thanks for the heads-up, Kent.
Looking forward to checking this out.
