Um, it seems to me that A) Coldplay is a pop band, and by no means as egregious an example of the species as can readily found on offer. B) They asked permission, to use a short quote from a Kraftwerk song. They didn't just bite. C) Kraftwerk themselves are relentlessly commercial. D) As much as we're all in their debt, from all reports the KW guys are kind of jerks, and rich jerks besides, who've gotten more mileage off fewer ideas in the past few years than anyone this side of George W Bush.
and E) Internet outrage is the most devalued currency in the known universe. PS I don't really mind if KW are jerks. Wagner used to kick his dog.
