I still can't make out lyrics half the time, even if I speak the
language.... And I know what you mean about lyrics taking the focus off
the music. But, on those occasions where the lyrics and the music are
good and go together perfectly - that's something special.

That's how I hear most vocals - as just another instrument - I can't
make out the words usually, or if I can it takes too much effort and
puts all the other elements of the song too much into the background, if
that makes any sense
