Ding! Nail on head. Paxahau does things a ceratin way, just like plenty
of deejays do things a certain way, but if that deejay doesn't take into
consideration the specialized tone of the event and plays completely
inappropriate music, they'd be slagged.

There was some London thing that was supposed to be about influences and
someone came and played their standard techno set. They got slagged off
big time on here for not being appropriate (big name too IIRC). I kinda
feel the same about this deal. Not too big on criticizing things I can't
help out, but come on, they were hired to do the DEMF and pulled a
paxahau box-lunch pre-fab party. I don't care if you're derrick may, if
you come play the best banging tech at a dub affair that you were
invited to for your particular knowledge of dub, I might have some words
with you. So paxahau as I understood were invited to do this on the
strength of their knowledge and devotion to the Underground sound of
Detroit and they used that reputation to (so far) push the overground
sound of money. the fact that they've told people their list is full and
they won't divulge the Detroit locals makes me even more suspect.

I don't care who they have on there really, simply because I KNOW AC or
the retroactive crew would do a more solid performance than at least two
of their current bookings (not to mention the whole Detroit thing).
So...whatever. back to beats.
