What a sh1tty week I've had

Tell me about it. Everything I touch breaks this week.

No new tunes for the last two weeks, but if anyone has got anything hot
to recommend, I just use some retail therapy :)

That's been the only bright spot really. I picked up a decent sized haul
from Juno and spent a good chunk of my evening last night ploughing through it.

I got the latest Pascal Schäfer 'Day Return EP' on Karaoke Kalk Pets, which
has three almost-excellent-but-not-quite-there tracks and the last cut
'Freightliner', which is a fantastic little housey tune with lush synths,
and certainly justifies the price of the record on its own. I also picked up
this 'Cookies & Brownies 2' record http://www.discogs.com/release/587765
which features a track by Trevor AKA Pascal Schäfer as well, although I've
not properly injested that one yet. The lengthy (3 minute) clips on Juno sound good for that one, fwiw.

Detroit Beatdown 1 Remixes 3 10" is nice. Digging both sides. The Amp Dog
Knight remix is about what you'd expect and the Malik Pittman remix rings
Prescription bells in my head for some reason. Gotta be those pianos.

Got the Redshape on Styrax Leaves. Not convinced of it just yet. The beat on
'Dust' is dope, but I wish it added something.Should be able to find a use
for it though.

Got that Atjazz 'For Real'. The Charles Webster and Atjazz mix is the one.
Cheers for the tip Francis!

And in the German/Canadian Detroit house section (if that makes any sense),
I got The Mole's 'In My Song' on Wagon Repair and Soulphiction's 'Masai
Mara' on Philpot, both of which are doing it for me, and both of which
demonstrate the distance these guys can put between themselves and the
KDJ/Theo-wannabe tags they often get slapped with. The Soulphiction one in
particular is fairly atypical and synth-heavy as well.

Oh, and I picked up the Lifeworks comp
http://www.openmindrecordings.com/lifeworks.htm, which is looking fantastic,
but it's next up in my listening queue so I can't comment just yet. I hear
they're going fast, so get 'em while they're hot!
