Not too sure about the French scene overall, but I picked up this live album by I:Cube the other day that is really fantastic. Kind of a "minimal" house/techno affair that is more atmospheric and less dry than, say, Luciano's sound. Apparently he recorded this live set at the Planetarium in Paris early last year, which I think is at the Science & Industry Museum.
I would recommend checking it out. Adam On 9/5/06, Matt Chester (313) <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
What else is going on in Paris these days, is there much good techno about? I only ever hear about nights at Rex and very occasional ones at Nouveau Casino - are there many less obvious nights happening as well? In fact, what's happening in the French scene generally at the moment, anything secret and interesting we don't hear about?! ----- Original Message ----- From: "KiDD*e" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Three-One-Three" <313@hyperreal.org> Sent: Tuesday, September 05, 2006 5:10 PM Subject: Re: (313) Re: kings of techno > If some of you are in Paris this thursday (September 7th), he will perform > one of his 'all night long' set for the re-opening of the Rex Club : > http://www.rexclub.com/ > http://www.fcom.fr/ez/index.php/en/dates/(artiste_selection)/Laurent%20Garnier > There are other interesting gigs the next days too. > > - KiDDy. > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Dale Lawrence" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: "313" <313@hyperreal.org> > Sent: Tuesday, September 05, 2006 4:59 PM > Subject: Re: (313) Re: kings of techno > > >> >> I remember Laurent performed at a party here in the wrong >> neighborhood where some shadiness went down.
