A nice message from Steve who's having trouble posting to the list below. ________________________________

Any time I try to post, it doesn't. So can you forward this post to this list for me? Concerning the Put your Hands up for Detroit record... I haven't been to a club in about over 3 years. I live in a small little corner of France, and I went out last night and I was expecting to be close to one of the older people there, I wasn't, I reallly wasn't. They played fragmented "techno", pop stuff, even going as far as Kelly Clarkston, yes I know, it sucked, but I had to make the most of it. In the midst of this that "detroit" record y'all been talking about comes on, and to tell you the truth, hearing that was what I needed more then anything. I was with a group of entirely north Americans,I am from Detroit myself, but no "americans", and the record got people talking to me about Detroit techno. And it got me thinking, how lucky I was for most of my life. I have been across Europe and the Americas to clubs and parties, but still about 99 percent of my club/raver life exposure has been in Detroit. I am not part of the Carl Craig Kevin Saunderson fan club like so many of you are, but that doesn't mean the vibe isn't there. All these good feelings came back to me, and well I just wanted to say thank you...Jeff Mills, Mike Huckaby, Mike Servito, Derek Plaslaiko, Jay Denham, DJ Assault, DJ Godfather, Family Funktion, The Plastikman, Detrechno, The WJLB Friday night mix with Gary Chandler, 1515 Broadway, The New Dance Show, Rick Wade, DJ Mista Bill, Laura Grabb, St Andrews Hall with the Burns Room, and Mr Juan Atkins. Back then the music was everywhere, and it seemed like water, like the Detroit River, flowing everywhere. Now what I would pay to have a bottle of that to hand to the DJ. Thank you all for some of the best years of my life, cutting loose on a Friday night, going to a party on a Saturday night, taking advantage of the Beer Specials at the Shelter on a Thursday. I don't wish I could go back, but I do wish I could hear your influence over again. Later, Steve -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
