I guess the movie wasn't nearly as good as the soundtrack unfortunately. According to all reports I've heard. A friend of mine said he only had an emotional response in the scene where they played "Ceremony" and that really he was reacting to the song and not the onscreen action.
I'm sure a movie with a Mills score would be cool. Unfortunately for Mills (and us) a 'techno' score is pretty passe now -- very 1998 -- without anyone (like Mills) ever having the chance to do a proper job of it. 'Run Lola Run' was maybe the movie that came closest in spirit, but I wasn't crazy about most of the music. On 1/7/07, Cyclone Wehner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
How cool is this soundtrack with electronic, classical and New Wave. Great to see Aphex Twin and Squarepusher on there. This is the sort of avant garde pop project I'd really love to see Jeff Mills involved in. Sofia Coppola has obviously been influenced by Baz Luhrmann (who relied VERY heavily on Melbourne techno pioneer Josh Abrahams for his electronic elements), but it's definitely a must-hear.
