I am floored. It always gets to me when it is someone close to my age. I never new he suffered like that, and it saddens me that there was only one solution for him. I hope he finds some sort of peace.
I remember back in 99 he gave me a mix tape to take back to Baltimore and DC area to try and get him booked in to some local gigs here. I was unsuccessful at getting him booked by the larger production companies because of the local "Baltimore House" scene that tainted the area's opinion of Ghetto Tech, but I did get one of the smaller ones to bring him out for more than one occasion. I am glad I was able to do that for him. And by the way, that mix tape is the best Ghetto Tech mix I have, hands down. Better than Godfathers "Da Bomb" series and any of the DJ Assault CD's I bought. I didn't know him real well, but on the couple of occasions I did get a chance to hang out with him, he seemed to be happy and having a good time. Who doesn't at a party, right. I will always remember him for that...and of course the time some whack-ass DJ from Philly tried to scratch battle him...and consequently got their ass kicked on the wheels of steel. Sorry bout the memoir, I don't usually do em, but I felt it necessary.
