If I was driving in, I'd start checking the outlying burbs for a Red
Roof or something equally un-belled/unwhistled. It's only about a 30-odd
minute frive from Novi to Hart Plaza...

I can't even afford it this year and I'm only a full days drive away (3
states). They jack the prices on hotels and more than half are already
booked so no chance on staying anywhere near Hart Plaza. We could fly but
that would probably be more expensive even with my miles available.
There is enough there already for me to be excited though and if I can find
a cheaper means of staying there ($195 per night? In Detroit??) I might go.
