Pricey but I've heard good things about the Athenaeum.

Pfft, the Ponch is probably the last place I'd stay anymore
the place turns into a dump during the festival
elevators are slower than molasses - hallways are trashed
idiot kids doing like laying down and falling asleep in the lounge
oblivious to the fact that they aren't the only clients
the prices are getting outrageous
only good thing about the place is proximity but you have to put up with a
lot of crap from both the hotel and other rude people
their buffet breakfast is decent but not as good as it was the first time
we stayed there
definitely thing the Ponch has gone from ok to dump - I think they've even
lost some of the official star ratings they used to have
