I'm going to add to number 4. If you have a car,
travel OUTSIDE the city. You can easily take woodward
up (as in miles) to other parts of the area like
Ferndale (go to Xedos cafe if they're still there),
Royal Oak, and Birrrrmingham. I think it really shows
the extreme in areas. Some of the lake homes are
insane.

If you're feeling adventurous head up to Ann Arbor.
