West Detroit (a.k.a. Los Angeles) has claimed another of Detroit's
finest.
Blake Baxter succumbed to the lure of West Detroit 6 months ago,
it turns out. I just came back from see Abe Duque tear it up
live - with a surprise turn on the mic by Mr. Baxter for their
collaboration track "Disko Lights".
Afterwards I asked Blake how he happened to be at the show, and
did it mean he was living out here now. Which is how I learned
about his westward migration.
You got Juan back Detroit, but we got Blake. Keep sending 'em
to us, we'll take all we can get! ;)
