And notice how in the runout groove AX-021 is scratched out and replaced by the Music Man cat. no. :) Some recent additions to my crate: Shake's EP on Sublime. 'Get A Feeling' has an old school house feel to it without sounding derivative. The flipside 'Sermon' is a pretty straightforward groover, but with lots of quirky sounds going on. This one's growing on me. The Shawn Rudiman EP 'Evidence of Life' on 7th City. I'd like to interpret this as evidence of life of techno, i.e. that techno does not necessarily have to be thundering 'tsss-tsss-tsss' stylee to do serious dancefloor damage. Solid stuff, somewhat reminiscent of Stephen Brown's work on Djax. And more on the 212/312 tip: the "Passages" EP by Tony Watson (who he?) on Ibadan. It's one-sided (...) but it can go the full ten rounds with the best of Guidance and Prescription. Deep and hypnotic. Otto
