Thought some people might be interested in this, if they haven't already
heard...

(In a pathetic, desperate effort to keep on topic, did Leftfield ever get
remixed by any 313 artists? I can't think of any meself.)

LEFTFIELD R.I.P

After 12 years of sonic experimentation, Paul Daley & Neil Barnes have
decided to pull the plug on Leftfield. Both parties will be pursuing solo
projects so Leftfield fans should not be down hearted. This should be seen
as a new beginning in an on going process.

The platinum selling duo have been responsible for re-defining dance music,
as well as producing and remixing artistes from John Lydon to Roots Manuva
to David Bowie. They have decided to end the partnership amicably after
they felt it could not be taken any further.

Formed in 1990 with the release of the seminal 'Not Forgotten' single,
Leftfield's career is a list of formidable achievements. The famous duet
with John Lydon on 'Open Up' caught the mood of the nation and the impact of
their debut 'Leftism' album, released in January 1995, was seismic. It is
still referred to as the greatest dance album of all time. Their platinum
selling follow-up 'Rhythm And Stealth' debuted at number one and featured
the mighty 'Phat Planet' single. Their live show with its famous sound
system helped to redefine the role of live dance music and after gigs
throughout Europe, they are still officially the loudest band ever to play
Brixton Academy. The remix work in the early party of their career and the
success of their own Hard Hands label should also be keenly remembered.

Leftfield. Gone but not forgotten.

Paul Daley - "Thanks to everyone from fans to promoters to DJ's and to
listeners who have supported us over the years. THIS IS NOT THE END!"

Neil Barnes - "Leftfield was always about pushing the boundries of sound as
far as we could. I'm pround to be a part of this. Thanks to all the people
we have worked with over the years and to everyone that promoted & bought
our records. THE END IS JUST THE BEGINNING."
