I think it is just an anagram. However, Vladislav Delay (I cannot remember his name off hand) is a jazz drummer. So I would not consider it completely unlikely that he was aware of the track when he named the piece.

BTW, was anybody else seriously dissapointed by this release? This performance is definitely not entain quality. It is basically his girlfriend talking for an hour with some VD textures and such coming in and out every so often. The vocals were kind of interesting for about 5 minutes or so, and then it just became very samey for me. It just seemed like it could have been a lot more than it was.

The ARS festival write-up was very interesting though. I wish Detroit were cultually forward enough to string up a bunch of speakers around downtown and have people create music for the space once a year. The DEMF seems very backwards compared to a cultural project like that.

take care,
mt

question about this naima cd, is that just the title of the cd or is there a track naima? and if so is it a rmx work of john coltranes naima, or is it an
original piece?

wondering,
naeema
