I just thought I'd send this off to the list, in case people weren't aware of this: If you live in Detroit you technically have no 4th amendment rights under federal law, as the city resides within 25 miles of the US/Canada border. In the past week checkpoints with random searches were set up near Port Huron and Treton. Currently there are no plans to install them in Detroit, but who knows about the future, with "homeland security," being such a pressing concern. May be somthing to consider if you cross the border for parties.
