okay kids. this REALY doesnt have much 313 content outside the detroit area. but its kind of interesting.
W4 106.7FM, the station the majority of us mocked growing up...is dead.... go ahead...turn it on...you'll hear nothing but a tone and some macho voice every 10 minutes on carts. the corporate powers that be allegedly have decided detroit needs another rock station...but thats all hearsay... with the decline of ted nugents station and WRIF being run by old fogies..."detroit rock city" isn't really all that "rockin" according to my friend (who just graudated as well and was going on as a production manager there at W4), they fired everyone at noon high, and went off the air at 6. which is a shame. not only for him who just turned down a radio job in chicago, but for those whose families depended on that station for income. granted, i didn't particularly enjoy 106.7...but it really is a shame to see another corporate take over deface the airwaves again that once gave people so much. hooked on 101.9 rob
