I-f - Portrait of a Dead Girl 2 - 12" - Disko B
Those few with an ear to the sewer (read: one of 100 holding "the brown
elbow") know well that the sounds of the Hague have recently stepped
straight off the screen like a musical Purple Rose of Cairo. Disco B has
stolen from Hottmix Electro-nix a set of four superbly Sountrackian sewer
scene's which truly tread across territories of thoughtful techno story
telling. At times, steering straight into post industreal pop vocal song
structure and of course, plodding through pensive blinking beatbox
meditations. For the trainspotters who didn't hang their arms out the
window of their car, there is a consolation prize of "TORMENT" here, a
brown elbow electro highlight which was lifted off the aforementioned
extraordinarily limited and as exclusively stellar Viewlexx 12 and
deposited here for wider appreciation. Come and get it! (Buddy)

Zombie Nation - Kernkraft 400 - 12" - Gigolo - gigolo19
Gigolo goes straight on in the retrodiscoelectro era. Splank! and Mooner
form together Zombie Nation these five tracks. The track Kernkraft 400 is a
somewhat bold electro track and comes with a 'Space Invaders..'-like very
catchy synth loop, Automearck goes in slow house style, with voice gimmick
samples. Last on a, Glam 25, is more downtempo breakbeats with smooth synth
sounds. Breakitdown is more into heavy electro, towards The Hague-style.
Rhythmbox is the last one, more uptempo together with cheesy synths into
eighties style.

Pametex - Car demolition - LP - Clone - Cat.Clone XX
Hundred promo copies are floating around of this 8-track lp by Melvin White
from The Hague. This lp presents some of the finest tracks in the electro
area to come from Holland yet. Eight times very soulful, quiet towards
ambient, electro tracks. An excellent piece of work, fully loaded with
atmospheric moods for fine listening hours. Order it straight from the
source. (Arnold)

Electronome - Music Telex EP - 12" - Viewlexx - V-001
First release on the new and improved Viewlexx label, after five 'test
pressings', released through the new Star 67 and therefore pressed at the
excellent NSC press, detroit. Music Telex is the follow-up to No Landscape
& Influence 12"es, released on the Interr-ference label. Were these
releases to a broader range, this time it's sticked to dope electro. And
how! Music Telex ep is without a doubt one of the finest pieces of electro
ever to leave Holland. Hi energy tracks, deep in future-mode, electricity
basslines all around. The EP leaves off in a spacey clinical mood, where in
track 2 things are fired up. Fine vocoder use and densed beats and basses.
First track on side b has a bassline closely to Fix' Flash one, where the
last track is more airy, somewhat reminding to Le Car stuff. Very strong &
deep release.

> 3 Chairs

Rick Wilhite, Kenny Dixon Jr & Theo Parish present: - Three Chairs - 2x12"
- 3 Chairs - 3CH-1
More spacey and experimental are the platters of this delicious double pack
on also the new dopey 3 Chairs label. Deep soul house tracks again, six in
total, bringing the top of avantgarde lo-fi disco. Top tunes are especially
the raw and smashing When the morning comes by Theo Parish, and the funky
long Track to Track by KDJ. Also check Kenny Dixon Jr's album on Planet E,
which includes lots of classics of this geezer. Party on! (Arnold)

Various - 3 Chairs - 12" - Sound Signature
The follow-up to the excellent 3 Chairs double pack sees daylight through
Theo Parrish' Sound Signature imprint. And again these gentlemen keeped
some of the best pieces for this release. Rick Wilhite opens with Good
Kiss, easily pumping around at below 110 bpm. The smooth beats only seem to
be stopped by some jazzy breaks. Theo Parrish opens side b with Blue Out,
opening quietly but getting active later on. Kenny Dixon Jr finishes this
release with the fine Transit. A more introvert track, in the best style of
Detoit house. Excellent!
