haven't posted to the list for quite some time as I've had very little
to say about Ritchie Hawtin and the one time I do post it's a bit of self
promotion!!! Anyway here goes:

Iridite EP (IR001)

Fresh from the Detroit Electronic Music festival this collective of new
artists release their debut EP on Glasgow's newest techno label, Iridite
Recordings. The concept of this release brings 4 individual production
outfits together, fusing Electro, Techno breaks and Beats on 4 separate
tracks. With the likes of DJs Claude Young, John Tejada, Slam and Andrew
Wetherall already hooked on Iridite, this EP shows a potential that most
producers and DJs can only dream of today.
The artist backgrounds behind Iridite are highly impressive, with their CVs
boasting collaborations and releases on Sirkus, Finetik, 20/20 Vision and
Soma recordings with remix duties for Groove Armada, Aaron Carrol and Daniel
Ibbotson also, and over 10 years of producing Detroit influenced House,
Techno and Electronics.

Opening Veto 1 is a jackin' tech naughty workout by Peacemaker. This cheeky
start up track is a perfect floor shaker to get groovin' to. 2nd track on A
is a more downbeat, chilled abstract number by electronic poet Organica,
definitely one for after dark hours. On the flip side B picks up the flow on
the electronic tip, with Rei Loci kickin in bleeps and beats and taking
techno to its limits with its ass shakin' knife edge drive. Finishing off
this showcase of talent is a track by artists Neiu bringing us a deep, dark
assortment of heavy static rhythms and smooth basslines. The whole concept
of this release is very workable, with tracks ideal from warm up to full
floor action all on the one EP, which is a rarity to find in this ever
competitive market.
Take note for future releases from this promising label and its artists, as
this is only the start.....

been pretty positive so far- if anyone is interested there are snippets of
