D1 continue their mission of restoring the health of house music with a
bouncin' new E.P. from Dublin's Educution. Taking a short break from
producing his forthcoming debut album to bring you four new trax of pure
warehouse disco with a distinct Chicago flavour and more concern for your
hips than aesthetics. Ting Chuggy came to the party unshowered, unshaved,
downright stankin' and is gonna make sure everybody leaves reeking.
'Housezilla' kicks us off with a jakk'd up loop from the JB's 'Control' and
works the pitch in a crazy style until the sax transforms into an old timey
car horn. 'Extravageansai' (Gaelic for Christmas jumper day) pushes up the
heat working filtered disco textures over ripping house beats until it
finally implodes into unabashed synth flute melodies. 'Downward Spiral'
deepens the groove, everything worked in a gentler style while retaining the
party spirit. Last but by no means least, 'On the Ron Again' harks back to
where it all began, taking two loops from a filthy Ron Hardy mixtape
recorded at the Music Box and chopping them to pieces. To top all this off
we've included a pumpin locked groove at the end of each side so in theory
the party will never end.
