Sorry for the bad title but I'm wondering how many Detroit residing (or formerly) list members would mind hitting me back with some info on late 60s and 70s soul/disco/funk from the Detroit area. Meaning, what local Detroit artists/labels were hot on the dancefloors of the Detroit discos in the 70s. I've really been into the Invictus/Hot Wax label and I've come across a number of other smaller labels that have some good Detroit funk. Wouldn't mind a bit of an insider's "what to look out for when digging". Kind of a continuation of Dan Bean's article in Wax Poetic from a while back.
