I agree with Kent. Selling out is about compromising values. I will also add - An artist has to eat - and it's great that they have other means of income other than just make records. Better something cool like an adidas ad, than say flipping burgers or being stuck in an office. Face it, not much $ is being made on making records.
I have NFI really about a grammy. if you get nominated, it'd be sweet to get a chance to win one. I'm sure there is a lot of politicking and bias etc going on, but if I were an artist and people appreciated my recordings and nominated me, I wouldn't be complaining.
