As far as this original topic goes...I've created music on hardware and software, and find advantages to both. It is the user's knowledge and input rather than the machines. The problem I see is usually between the interface and the chair...not the equipment. I have known tons of people who have had the 'right' equipment for doing this music we love, yet have no earthly idea how to make what they want to make.
