Yes it would, but there are endless options here.  I was just trying to
show some of the things you can do with substring filters.

So you could do a filter like this for your example above:

"(|(sn=*brown")(sn=*brown west"))"

or

"(|(sn=* brown")(sn=* brown *"))"  --> note the spaces
