WWF's PowerSwitch! Scenario study has shown that our country is endowed with vast renewable energy potential: 4,000 MW for geothermal, 2,308 MW for small hydro, 235 MW for biomass and 7,404 MW for wind. Increasing the share of renewable energy will help cut CO2 emissions and local pollution, and thereby protect people and nature from the impacts of dangerous climate change. It will also reduce the country's dependence on imported fossil fuels, saving the country US$ 2.9 billion over a 10-year period.
