Hi everyone,

Las night, May 14, 2009 I talked to three passengers who were victims of hold
up in the bus were they came from.  Three hold uppers were carrying guns and
they took away the passengers wallets, phones and other valuables..  There were
not so many passengers in the bus.  One of the men in front was hit by a gun
and was bloodied.  The two passengers I talked to, who were sitting near the
front of the bus, gave their wallets and phones.  The third passenger I talked
showed only her bag and the hold upper got only the coin purse.  She was able
to keep her phone and iPod because she was sitting by the end of the bus and
the hold uppers were already eager to leave when they reached her.  She was
still teary eyed when she was relaying the story mainly because of the trauma.
Anyway, she concluded it was advantageous to sit at the middle or near the end
for instances like this.  The same is true for snatching.  For jam packed
buses, victims of snatching
are usually those who stay in front near the doors.  It is usually advisable
to stay at the middle or near the end.

For those who take public buses, I hope the reminder helps… J
