Thanks Tim. MS sent me an email saying:
"The best place to ask this question is the Excel area of answers.microsoft.com <http://answers.microsoft.com/>, which I know you've done already. We monitor that forum and we've got the right folks over there who can help with questions like this, so I'm going to go ahead and remove this idea from UserVoice (since we're trying to keep the UserVoice site for new product ideas)." So they’ve deleted the suggestion that they get MS Excel to accept data from MS Query. Anyway, spent 2 hours on phone with tech support to no avail this morning. The guy even connected to my machine with LogMeIn Rescue to see the problem. But he hadn’t even heard of Microsoft Query, and even thought it must be a third party product, despite the name!
