Desktops are here to stay :-))

In a classic dismissal of industry trends (one that they themselves initiated
no less) they’ve migrated the screen to the keyboard instead of the keyboard to
the screen. This is a very smart move IMO and after watching nearly 30 years of
Apple launches I can’t help thinking it's a bit of a seminal event, especially
for those of us developers who didn’t jump unhedged onto the mobile-tech
bandwagon.

I’ve always thought that 4D made the right decision to keep the desktop product
alive and evolve it. That decision has just had a huge endorsement from Apple
in that they’ve recognised that power-software is ultimately a tool that starts
and ends with a steering wheel, however many features may be in play.

I am very pleased about this and I think all 4D people should B2. (Sorry about
the shorthand - been reading too many twitter feeds of people complaining about
a touch strip rather than a touch screen. It’s ok, they just haven’t thought it
through).

Regards

Peter
