Sometime in around December 2016 the fast scrolling in a text field was fixed. I don’t know if it was changes in 4D v15.3 HF1 or if it was repairing fonts with font book. But now the scrolling is smooth as butter, not too fast and not too slow and I am able to read scrolling text using the trackpad on my laptop.
