I am using Oracle VirtualBox and really like it. Running 4D versions 13, 14,
and 15 in Windows Server 2008 32bit and Windows 7 64bit. Not had any problem
running 4D in 4gb ram , but have bumped it to 8gb when having to work with
other applications in conjunction with 4D.

I was a long time user of Parallels, then switched to Fusion when I started
experiencing serious periods of sluggishness overall when running 4D. Fusion
worked fine until I discovered VirtualBox. I received a demo of a very complex
Web/SQL based facilities application in the form of a VirtualBox VM. It
included a full install of Windows 2008 Server. I was really impressed at how
well it ran and how easy it was to get running on my Mac. We regularly run the
VM Demo on both Mac and Windows machines.

It was relatively easy to convert my fusion vmwarevms to Virtual Box vdis
after which I never looked back. I now use VirtualBox for all my VM
requirements. Virtual Box is fast, very easy to set up especially the network
stuff, and the best part is it is free. Surprisingly good support from Oracle
for a free product and it is regularly updated.
