Hello, 64-bit Mac (Server or Client) can only use the New Layer, regardless of the settings. 32-bit Mac Clients can adapt "can adapt their protocol dynamically (doc)", they start with the New Layer or automatically switch during initial connection.
http://doc.4d.com/4Dv15/4D/15.4/Network-and-Client-Server-options.300-3286409.en.html#1882948 The "ignored" thing means, you can't connect a v14 Client to a v15 64-bit Server in the hope that it automatically updates itself to v15. you have to either manually distribute v15 clients, or run a v15 32-bit server for some time until all v14 clients are upgraded to v15, at which point you can restart the application using 4D Server 64-bit. obviously same rules apply for v16. > 2017/03/07 6:51、Charles Miller via 4D_Tech <[email protected]> のメール: > when the checkbox on compatibility for > use legacy network layer (ignored on OS X 64 bit) is checked.
