Jeff (and others that went to seminar - actually anyone):

I am thinking I will splurge and get a new computer as my current one is a 2011
MacOS Laptop. It is the oldest on the list of Apple’s for being able to be
upgraded to Sierra. Question is - Which one if I buy now, or should I wait
another year?

I had been planning on purchasing a MacBook Pro that was released late 2016.
Finding a hub to support 2 DisplayPort monitors was hard. Somewhat disappointed
by the limit on RAM too.

Looking at the benchmarks for the MacBook Pro is not compelling. The limit of
RAM, and the frustration of ports along with the high price tag is also not
compelling.

Apple today came out with a reduced price on their (aging) MacPro line. A look
at the Benchmarks shows that for multiprocessor speeds these are the fastest
Apple systems. Single processor, well they are behind even the new MacBook Pro.
They do have lots of support for my aging DisplayPort monitors, and Thunderwire
2 devices. No hub needed to be purchased.

Apple ‘announced’ that a new and improved MacPro will be coming out after 2017.
Ah - vapour wear to be tempted by.

If you were buying new MacOS hardware (I plan on running Windows on it in a
Virtual environment), what would you purchase?

Thanks for any dreaming ideas.

Jody
