Regarding my earlier note I said: "I wasn't able to get back into design mode by pressing the control key, space bar and right clicking on my splash screen." I believe that was incorrect. I use to press the shift key, space bar and right click to get to design mode.
Since I have the trace in the startup method, I found that if choose to edit that method at startup and then choose the Method item from the Run menu and cancel it will then take me to the full design mode which includes the full design toolbar. I am still curious why the keyboard combination suddenly stopped and whether anyone had any ideas how I could get it to work again.
