I am trying to get the edit commands working in a dialog. To figure how best to
do it I created a test form with a combo box and a text variable. Failing to
get an Edit Menu working (see below), I put invisible buttons on the form for
cut, copy, and paste with the respective standard actions enabled and with the
proper shortcuts and opened it with...
Open form window("Testing")
DIALOG("Testing")
The variable works fine, but the combo box works for all the edit actions
except Copy.
Could somebody test and confirm this as a bug?
———— Edit Menu…
I really need to get the editing commands working in a combo box on a real
production form and thought an Edit menu is the proper way to go. I have relied
for so many years on Foundation handling my menus that I am at a loss to figure
out how to create and enable any menus on my own.
As of now the production dialog opens with just the 4D and Help menu. I have
the dialog associated menu set per Foundation documentation, select Foundation
Shell Menu, check Active, deselect Foundation Shell Menu. This makes it so that
the foundation shell menu is not disabled when closing the dialog.
I thought it would be best to have an Edit menu active on the form. I
attempted to do just that and got an Edit menu to display but the edit menu
items remain greyed out when the cursor is in an editable text object, combo
box or variable.
Any help getting an edit menu in a Dialog to work would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
John
