ACI0097488 is not a memory leak. ACI0097488 is a about the memory that is used during the backup and then released back to the system as inactive memory. The macOS would typically turn this inactive memory to file cache, and a situation could arise where the OS reported that there was no free memory due to the fact that all of the inactive memory has been turned into file cache. The mac operating system is supposed to turn the file cache back in to free memory when it is needed but that doesn’t always work properly so some people have resorted to using the 'purge' command as explained here: http://kb.4d.com/assetid=77831
Again - This is not a memory leak, it is a normal operation of the Mac operating system. ACI0097488 is more of an optimization than an actual bug fix. The optimization tells the operating system not to cache the large files that were backed up, thus preventing the system from running out of free memory. This optimization is available in v16.x.above 219029 (the first nightly build after 16.3). The optimization is also available in v16R6 (the first R release after v16R5). Hope that helps! -Tim ********************************************************************** 4D Internet Users Group (4D iNUG) FAQ: http://lists.4d.com/faqnug.html Archive: http://lists.4d.com/archives.html Options: http://lists.4d.com/mailman/options/4d_tech Unsub: mailto:[email protected] **********************************************************************
