I have experienced a lot of problems with backup after years of zero problems in all previous 4D major versions. I also noticed that operations would suddenly start working when I connected to the Mac via screen sharing. The Mac was set not to sleep, but the display did sleep. On a whim, I set the display not to sleep and that seemed to solve the problem.
