The link in your email shows all the versions currently supported by 4D. What
were you looking for? v16.3 is the latest version you are going to find for
download (see below). If you want to learn as a developer, I recommend you
read any version of the Design Reference Manual (LRM) and Design Reference
Manual (DRM). So v16.3 would be a perfectly good choice. Later you can read the
what’s new document for v17 when it comes out. I learned 4D by reading the LRM.
Read enough of the DRM and their getting started stuff to create a practice
database and practice what you read as you go through the LRM. There are
videos available on YouTube.

Below is an explanation of their versioning structure.

John

16 is the latest shipping version of 4D and .3 is the latest version of v16.
Dot releases contain only bug fixes.

R releases are the pre-releases of the next shipping version (v17). v16R6 is
the latest R version which can be used by developers as well as users under
maintenance contract, which HAS is. Each R version goes through a beta version
available to developers in their beta program, which I am.

v17 is expected to be released within the next few months at which time v14
will be dropped as a supported version. I plan to upgrade HAS to R6 when I get
back from DC. I usually wait 2 to 3 months before deploying any newly released
version to my clients. Sooner if there is something in the release that is
compelling or fixes a bug that is affecting the client.
