Yes, sometimes a mounted share loses it's connection and gets remounted with a number appended to it (I have seen 2 but never 3). If you "ls /Volumes" you will likely see sharedFolder, sharedFolder-2, sharedFolder-3. You might be able to unmount the wrong ones somehow, but I generally just reboot. You can also get this issue when you have two disks or disk images with the same name.
