Dynamic forms have the potential for being a real game changer in the way you work with 4D. (I know there's a lot of that talk going around now but I think this deserves it because it doesn't require you to use ORDA. It's more an extension of traditional 4D developing.) The 4D form editor is actually pretty good, I think. Instead of having dozens of forms in the database you could have a single form you use to prototype then export to JSON for actual use. To edit you just load it back up in your prototype form. Not to mention the bazillion or so existing forms we've all got. Being able to have 4D export those forms to an object conforming to the new dynamic forms scheme would be tremendously helpful. This is not a trivial task. I've been playing with doing this myself a bit and there just aren't the tools available now to do this. Plus the nomenclature for various object properties and attributes is different in several cases. -- Kirk Brooks San Francisco, CA ======================= *We go vote - they go home* ********************************************************************** 4D Internet Users Group (4D iNUG) Archive: http://lists.4d.com/archives.html Options: https://lists.4d.com/mailman/options/4d_tech Unsub: mailto:[email protected] **********************************************************************
