For fans of PDF user manuals, and having to wade through large documents (like the 4D Language Guide), I've enjoyed using (free) PDF-XChange Editor (https://www.tracker-software.com/product/pdf-xchange-editor).
Their PDF reader is free, and it's super-fast. The first search you do build internal indexes. As long as you keep the document open, subsequent searches are even faster.
