Prior to 4D v17, Volume Shadow Copy was something to definitely avoid on a 4D server. It could crash/corrupt 4D. Under v17 4D has joined the 20th Century and added support for it. I haven't read the details, but I think it will help 4D adoption in the enterprise world. And it could come in handy.
