I have recently left my long time employer and begun free-lance 4D development
work.

I have 24+ years of experience scaling a 4D solution from a departmental
application into a full enterprise system. During that time I have worn many
hats, some simultaneously, including Business Analyst, System Architect,
Software Developer, QA Engineer, Configuration Manager, Build Manager, Release
Manager, Tier 1, 2 and 3 Support Specialist, Database Administrator, and
Project Manager.

I have built tools to manage source code for multi-developer teams,
build-management and deployment processes and real-time data backup via
mirroring to Microsoft SQL Server. I have used agile software development
methodologies (mainly Scrum) in a team setting to deliver high quality
solutions in a timely manner. I use Test Driven Design principles whenever
possible. I have designed and built connections with external systems via ODBC,
SOAP, REST, FTP and file share technologies.

I have built a strong relationship with the Sales and Technical Support Teams
at 4D Inc. Our application stressed 4D in a number of ways which drew attention
from the highest levels of 4D. I worked closely with 4D Engineers in France and
San Jose troubleshooting a number of elusive bugs.

I have extensive experience upgrading 4D versions since Server 1.2x. I have
presented break-out sessions at two 4D Summits including "Supporting a 4D
Enterprise Application: The 24x7 Challenge" (2012 San Jose) and "A Simple Rules
Engine Using XPath" (2014 San Antonio)

I am happy to work on new or sustaining development projects. Short or long
term contract or regular position opportunities are welcomed.

I am located in the Seattle area but have extensive experience with remote
development. Please contact me via email is you have a need for a seasoned 4D
professional.
