Jorg, if by 'hide', you mean make them invisible (as in adding a '.' to the file & folder names) well... then you are changing the names of the various files and folders that 4D is expecting to be in place... so that will not work.
If you mean using 4D, or other means, to set the invisible bit without changing the name(s) that should not create any problem for your database. NOTE: I have never done this with 4D required files and folders, however I do create and maintain invisible files and folders for internal use - and there is no problem. Can I ask..? Why?
