Hi all,
Hope this one helps someone else out in future.
Recently I downloaded v17R6 and wanted to start using it, but when
compiling (as a merged application) under Windows 10 the Server and
Client apps ended up in a folder called
STR# 10135, 20
Instead of the folder: 'Client Server executable'.
Other users have noticed similar things in previous versions of 4D, but
could not help me track it down in this version. It was a problem for me
as I have a customised compile process built around the Build
Application command.
The solution was simple -- just reinstalled v17R6 from the downloaded
installer application.
I suspect that the resources were not installed correctly during the
initial installation -- everything was OK for the compile to proceed,
but at the last minute the compiler presumably stumbled when trying to
find the name to use for the folder ('Client Server executable'). Hope
this info helps someone else -- when all else fails, start with a
reinstall of 4D!
Cheers,
Allan Udy
