Mike, Hi. It would probably not be appropriate for 4D to create a .gitignore as it can't assume that you will use Git as a repo. For Git you would want to exclude: /Project/DerivedData
and possibly: /Logs On mac you would also want to exclude (this could be put in your global .gitignore file as it's applicable to all Git projects): .DS_Store There may be other exclusions that I have missed.
