I have seen this kind of behavior when I deal with workers. It seem to just be the way things are done. What you way want to do is instead of generating the email in the the client and then sending it to a process. Gather an object that tells the new process how to build the email and send it. Then if you have objects or blobs you may need to pass the attachment as a blob or object in a 4D table.
I actually have a scratch workspace table in my 4D system that I use for this purpose. I take the object and parameters and save them in a new new row stored in the table. Then when I call my worker/new process I pass the UUID table row or the instructions to the process. The new process / Worker then fetches the record and takes it from there. It is up to the worker or task to usually either send back a response, or put a response back into the record and either call the Call form Function, or to just delete the command on completion of the order. This way is things go a bit nuts and the server falls behind it can still process quad up requests later or if the process dies while working it can be restarted to finish the job. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- MacCafe 7860 Central Ave. Toledo, OH 43617 Phone: (419) 885-1240 X 241 Fax: (419) 517-2063 Eric Naujock - ACSA 10.2, 10.3, 10.4 Apple - ACTC 10.5, 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, 10.9, 10.10, -ACSP 10.11, 10.12, 10.13, 10.14 A+, Network+, I-net+ http://www.mac-cafe.com email: e <mailto:[email protected]>[email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> > On Jan 22, 2020, at 5:33 PM, Allan Udy via 4D_Tech <[email protected]> > wrote: > > Hi All, > > It seems to me that when building up an email using the new Mail theme > commands in 4D v17R6/v18, if an attachment is added to the mail object, when > that email object is sent to a new process using either the 'New process' or > 'Execute on server' commands, the attachment Property in the email object is > now empty and the email will NOT send due to this error condition. > > Is this a bug, or am I missing something...? > > I've created a single standalone method to illustrate test this if anyone is > interested in trying it.
